For GPS to be configured the only file needed to be edited is: "UserSettings.default" indeed, as Carodiavolo is saying (despite other sites opinions). The modifications made here are transposed by the program in the others files needed !
An example for Miomoov 500 the only places to modify (red):

</TMC>........
You just modify the com port and speed of your machine. If it is not working you should try putting TYPE not 2 but testing 0, 1and 3 until the GPS starts.
Even if your machine doesn't have a TMC hardware just put a different port there (like I did , Miomoov 500 doesn't have TMC hardware !)
And not modify at all core.ini (despite the fact you will see there COM:7 if I well remeber)!!!!

It is possible to be neccessary to change in the file ApplicationSettingsPathes.xml some paths changing the name of the external sd card
Example:
<Path>/SDMMC/NAVIGON/map</Path>
only change SDMMC with : Storage Card, StorageCard, SD , etc, according to your machine, in any line you find.
